Be
Free from Epilepsy
It’s Easier Than
You Think

“And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have
brought unto Thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; And wherever he takes
him, he tears him: and he foams, and gnashes with his teeth, and pines away…
and when he [the spirit] saw him [Jesus], straightway the spirit tare him;
and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
“And He asked his father, How long is it ago since this came
unto him? And he said, Of a child. And often it hath cast him into
the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any
thing, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, If
thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
“And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said
with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. …he [Jesus] rebuked
the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee,
come out of him, and enter no more into him. And the spirit cried,
and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; …Jesus took
him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.” (Mark 9:17-27)
One day Jesus
encountered the father of a young boy who had all the symptoms of
“epilepsy.” He would suddenly fall to the ground, foam at the mouth,
gnash with his teeth and then just as suddenly appear as if he had
died.
Apparently in this
boy’s case, a “dumb and deaf spirit” that also hindered his ability to both
hear and speak caused these symptoms. Jesus simply cast that spirit
out of the boy and his life was changed forever.
“Epilepsy” is
medically defined as “a neurological disorder with recurrent sensory disturbances,
loss of consciousness or convulsions; associated with abnormal electrical
activity in the brain.”
I do not know everything
that can be known about epilepsy. Nor do I believe that all seizures
are the result of a human being tormented by “evil spirits” or
“demons.”
Some
cases of epilepsy are obviously neurological and physical. When that
is the case the individual suffering with the disorder can be healed by
faith in God's Word through the use of the Strong Name of Jesus.
However, quite often
epileptic seizures are the result of harassment by demonic spirits and when
this is the case, these spirits can be cast out using the Powerful Name of Jesus.
If Jesus did
it, all Believers who live right can do it.
Jesus said, “…the
works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;
because I go unto my Father.” (John 14:12)
A
Miraculous Modern Day Illustration
I
know a man who suffered terribly from epileptic seizures all of his
life. We became acquaintances when he was in his early forties.
He told me how he could not drive an automobile because of his recurring
epileptic seizures.
Explaining
how oftentimes seizures are a manifestation of a demon spirit, I showed him
from the Bible that all Believers have authority over evil spirits. I asked
him if he would like me to show him how he could be free from epileptic
seizures. He became quite interested indeed.
I
checked to be sure he was Born-Again and he assured me that he was. Christ
was indeed his Savior.
I
explained to him that it was going to take some patience and commitment on
his part, but if he would stay with it he could be free. He assured me he
was willing to do whatever it took to be free from living with the nightmare
of epileptic seizures.
Explaining
from the Bible that faith is released through the mouth, I encouraged him to
say the following whenever the thought or the fear of having a seizure would
come to him.
"Spirit
of epilepsy, you have no authority over me any longer. I bind you in the
Name of Jesus Christ. I am free from epileptic seizures in the Name of
Jesus."
He
readily agreed to do so and we parted ways. I did not see him for at
least a month after this. When we met again I asked him if he had
experienced any seizures since having discovered his authority in Christ. He
joyfully expressed that he hadn't had even one seizure since he began using
his authority through the words
of his mouth.
We
did not see one another again for at least two months. When we finally
met up again he looked seriously oppressed and beaten down. When I
asked him if he was still free of epilepsy, he answered, "No, I've been
having very bad seizures."
With
confidence I said to him, "I can tell you why. You've stopped
telling the devil that you're free from epileptic seizures. You've
stopped using your authority. You've stopped using the Name of
Jesus."
He
hung his head and said, "You're right."
I
encouraged him to tell the devil that he was not going to be fooled and
these attacks were going to stop again.
We
prayed together and he told the devil, "You have no authority over
me. I am free from epileptic seizures in the Name of
Jesus." His joy returned. He was relieved that God was not
condemning him and that he could take authority again as if he had never
stopped.
We
parted ways again that day and I did not have occasion to see this man until
at least four months later. When I finally did see him, I asked him
right up front, "Have you been maintaining your authority? Are
you still free form epilepsy?" With a grateful heart he declared
that he had been free since the day we again prayed together over four
months earlier.
He
made a point of explaining to me, "I've learned my lesson. It's up to
me to stay free and I won't be fooled like that again. I will continue to
use the Name of Jesus against epileptic seizures."
It
is simply not a coincidence that when this man took authority over the
spirit that was causing his epileptic seizures they stopped.
It
was no coincidence that when he stopped maintaining his Christian authority,
the seizures began again.
It
was absolutely no coincidence that once he began maintaining his Christian
authority again, through the words of his mouth, that the seizures stopped
again. This time permanently.
You,
Too, Can Be Free from Epilepsy
Do you suffer from
epileptic seizures that have doctors baffled? If so, you can be
free.
Simply make Jesus the Lord of your
life by saying, “Jesus, You’re my one and only choice. I renounce
forever all association with Satan.” (Romans 10:13)
This makes you a
member of God’s eternal family, qualifying you for all of the many
family benefits. (Psalm
103:1-5; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Galatians 3:13,14)
Jesus
said one of those family benefits is authority over Satan and all
evil spirits.
"See
what I have given you? Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions
(Satan, demons and evil spirits), and protection from every assault of the
enemy. No one can put a hand on you. All the same, the great triumph is not
in your authority over evil, but in God's authority over you and presence
with you." (Luke 10:19,20 MSG)
You can boldly and
confidently address the
“spirit” of epilepsy and say, “Epilepsy, I thought I had to live with you
until now. Loose me and don’t return. I call myself healed, in Jesus’ Name.”
Now remember
this. After the seizures have stopped for awhile, Satan is going to
try to hit you with fear
again, just as he did with my friend. He will say something like, “I can feel
the seizures coming on again. They’ll
probably hit me in the night while I’m sleeping.”
Keep
this one thing in mind. Satan often uses pronouns when
he speaks to you so
you will think his words are your thoughts. That is to keep you off his
trail. But your eyes are open now to his devices.
Open your mouth and say, “Spirit of fear, I rebuke you.
I will not fear. Fear is the opposite of faith. I am a faith
person and you’ll obey me. Go, in Jesus’ Name. Spirit of epilepsy
and all seizures, I rebuke you in the Strong Name of Jesus. You no
longer have a place in me.” It will leave.
"Yell
a loud 'No' to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet 'Yes' to God and
He'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life.
Quit playing the field. The fun and games are over. Get serious, real
serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll
get on your feet." (James 4:7-8
Message)
Get the sin out of
your life if it exists. Then keep yourself
filled with God’s healing Word.
Keep yourself under a believing
Pastor who knows how the Believer’s
authority works.
Talk to your Pastor
about the Holy Spirit Baptism. It is an experience subsequent to making Jesus your Savior – an experience
of supernatural, concentrated power that helps to keep all tormenting
spirits at bay. (Acts 1:8)
Read about the Holy Spirit Baptism on this website, if

Make up your mind that one way or another you are going
to receive this concentrated power. It
is the added strength you need
to hold the spirit of epilepsy at bay.
Remember,
"Epilepsy, you have no authority over me. I am free from you in Jesus'
Strong Name."
Faith.
It is your frontline of defense against epileptic seizures.
