How to Pray & Get Results
Wouldn’t That Be Nice for a Change?

by Pastor John Hamel

“And in that day ye shall ask Me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatever ye shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it you.”  (John 16:23)

“How can I pray and get results?”  That’s a question I’ve heard over and over again as a Pastor, Bible Teacher and Evangelist.

I, myself, struggled with the answer to this question before it was finally answered for me one day as I was reading my Bible.  While doing so, I came across the above verse of Scripture.  It changed the way I prayed and resulted in the type of miracle answers for which I had been longing.  I was seeking power in prayer and I finally found it.

Man was created in the image and likeness of God.  So it is only natural for him to be a power-seeker. (Genesis 1:26)

That’s what praying is, actually, seeking power with God.

People who pray are asking God to use His Power on their behalf.

God is a good God and He desires to have all human beings seek His help in prayer.  He desires to answer the prayers of all human beings.

However, whenever we seek God’s help, it is only provided on God’s terms.  That’s only reasonable.  He made us, He owns us and He’s redeemed us through the Blood of Jesus.

Therefore, He has the right and the privilege of laying down the “ground rules” so to speak.  Anyone who genuinely desires answer to prayer must follow the rules of Miracle Prayer.

Rule Number One

Become A Member Of God’s Forever Family.

This can only be done by asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.

Simply say aloud, “Jesus, You’re my choice” and you’ll become a family member.  (John 1:12; 14:6; Romans 10:13)

Rule Number Two

Study The Bible.

You simply cannot pray effective Miracle Prayer unless you learn what God has agreed to do for you.

Everything He promises is found only in the Bible.

You must find what God promised to do about your need in the Bible. (John 15:7)

Rule Number Three

Never Pray To Jesus, The Virgin Mary, Deceased Saints Or Anyone Else.

Jesus said, “Ask the Father in My Name.” (John 16:23)  Mary said, “Whatever Jesus says, DO IT.” (John 2:5)

If Jesus said that we are not to pray to Him and Mary said we are not to pray to her, then we would do well to heed them both.  God, our Father, will only answer prayer when we follow His rules.

Whatever you need, pray, “FATHER, according to Your Word, I ask You to (fill in the blank), IN JESUS’ NAME.”

That will surely get His attention.  Praying this way is not only an act of faith, but it’s an act of obedience that God will honor. (Isaiah 1:19)

Rule Number Four

Continue To Thank Him For The Answer

That takes faith and it’s the only way to please Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

He heard you and is helping you now, even as He promised in the Bible. (1John 5:14,15)

The less you complain about your problem and the more you thank Him for the solution, in Jesus’ Name, the greater the Miracle results!

Remember, it all starts by saying these words, “Jesus, You’re my choice.”  God hears His children.

So there you have it.

Ask Christ to be your Savior.  Study your Bible so you can know what God has and has not agreed to do for you.  Pray only to the Father in Jesus’ Name.  Keep thanking Him for answering you.

That’s the kind of prayer that brings results.  Wouldn’t that be nice for a change?
