You're Supposed to be Free

“And when Jesus went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had demons long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.… And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many demons were entered into him….  And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would allow them to enter into them. And he allowed them.

“Then went the demons out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.  When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country. Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the demons were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.” (Luke 8:27-35)

I’d like to ask you a question.  

Are you bound by drugs or alcohol?  Possibly perverted behavior, lying, stealing or any of a thousand different types of wrong, compulsive human behaviors bind you. 

The Bible reveals that any time a human being is driven compulsively to do something against their will that they are being dominated and controlled by demon spirits. 

If demon spirits are dominating you today, you do  not have to be afraid and you do not have to be ashamed.  The Holy Spirit had someone place this Bible teaching in your hand today because God loves you and wants to set you free. 

Jesus can set you free today in the same way that He set the demon-possessed man free that you just read about.

Over thirty years ago demon spirits that pressed me into drug and alcohol addiction bound me.  I heard a Preacher on television teaching, much like I am teaching you today.  He told me that God was not mad at me just because I was a drug addict.  He told me that Jesus loved me and that He would set me free if only I would ask.  

I said, “Jesus, if what that man said is true and if You really do love me and will set me free, I will serve You for the rest of my life.” 

After praying that prayer, I felt a giant hand being laid on my head three times, yet I was in my home all alone.  The third time it came upon me, I felt the power of God go down through my body to the tips of my fingers and toes.  To make a long story short, I woke up NEARLY THREE DAYS LATER!  I did not dream, change positions, eat or drink during this time. 

I realized immediately that I was free from drugs and alcohol.  I have remained that way for over thirty years.  God did what I asked and I am now doing what I promised, serving Him for the rest of my life.

What Jesus did for me, He wants to do for you. 

If you’re bound just say these words, “Jesus, I choose You as my Liberator. Forgive me for my sins.  Please set me free like You set Pastor John free and I, too, will serve You with the rest of my life.  Satan, I reject you in Jesus’ Name.” (Romans 10:13)

Now hold steady and get ready for the biggest change and the greatest thrills of your life.  

God heard you and will respond to you now.
