A Supernatural Prediction

That Leads to Supernatural Peace

by Pastor John Hamel

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given …and his name shall be called …The mighty God …The Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David …to establish it with … justice … forever....” (Isaiah 9:6-7)

What you just read above is entirely supernatural.  I’ll explain.  These words were both spoken and penned by the Prophet Isaiah a full 800 years before they came to pass.

By inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Isaiah accurately pinpointed the following.

A man-child would be born.  This child would be God come in the flesh.  There would be no end to His Kingdom.  He would be of Jewish descent.  He would judge the world justly.

Amazing.  Earlier, this same Prophet predicted that this very same child would be born of a virgin. (Isaiah 7:14)

This is absolutely astounding.  Every single word spoken by God’s Prophet came to pass precisely as he said it would – 800 YEARS LATER!

Now get this.  Another Prophet named “Micah” actually pinpointed the very country and village where the Christ-child would be born.  Let’s read it from Micah, chapter five.

Vs.2 “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”

Micah predicted that Israel’s Ruler, the Christ-child, would be born in Bethlehem, but not just Bethlehem, BETHLEHEM EPHRATAH!

There were two “Bethlehems” in Israel when Jesus was born.  One was in the North, the other in the Southwest.

Micah accurately predicted that Jesus would be born in the Bethlehem southwest of Jerusalem called “Ephratah” (meaning “Fruitful”).

Micah also predicted as Isaiah did that this child would be “God” in human form.  He did that when he said, “…whose going forth has been from … EVERLASTING.”

This is a reference to God’s existence in Eternity past.  What an absolutely amazing prediction.  All proven by Scripture, archaeology and history, too!  Micah’s prediction came 700 YEARS BEFORE Christ’s birth!

When Jesus’ supernatural birth occurred exactly as the Prophets said, God’s Angel announced it to shepherds keeping their flocks that night.

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them … And the angel said unto them, Fear not … For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:8-11)

The shepherds made haste to Bethlehem and sure enough, it was exactly as the Angel had spoken.  Mary and Joseph were huddled in a stable with the newborn Christ-child.

No doubt, the shepherds were familiar with both Isaiah and Micah’s prophecies as they stood there thinking, “It’s true.  A man-child born in Bethlehem Ephratah of a virgin girl just as the Prophets predicted centuries ago!”

That baby boy grew up to be the Man Who willingly bore the brutal punishment for your sins and mine. (2Corinthians 5:21)

That brave Man is tugging on your heart today, asking you to accept His sacrifice so you can be forgiven.

He knows you are ashamed of the things you’ve done.

That’s why He says, “…him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37)

He’s not mad at you.

Just say, “Jesus, You’re my choice.” (Romans 10:13)  You’ll experience supernatural peace that you had always hoped was available. (Philippians 4:7)
